History of the NASP version

Some image are from my archive but some other are searched on iternet.
Many years ago I've upload all the release on Aminet but now only the first version is presents.

NASP version 0.x

This is the first version of NASP and the sample are compiled (with Seka and after Devpac Assembler) inside the executable file and loaded into Chip Memory.

So only one file is needed but to create another playlist another executable, with the samples embedded, must be compiled.

NASP version 1.x

The first official distribuited version has an opions to specify a text file contained a list of path and samples to load.

All the samples whas loaded only in Chip Memory so only 512Kb or 1Mb of sample can be loaded (depending on Amiga Model).

NASP version 2.x

An iterface to Load the sample while playing is added.
To not spend Chip Memory with the interface, needed also by the audio samples, a monocromatic graphic with only one bitplane was used. The colors was made line by line with the copper chip.

NASP version 3.x

This is the first version that use also the Fast Memory of your Amiga computer. With a fast routine the samples are moved, in real time, to a playable buffer in Chip Memory.

Added the support for stereo samples.

Now there is more chip memory available for the Graphic interface and so I used 2 bitplane (4 colors). Other color, used for the text on the black areas, is made with the Copper Chip.

NASP version 4.00

Actually this is an incomplete alpha version.

Finished new features:
- New interface at higher resolution.
- Time column to display a count down to know when the sample ends.
- L(oop) column to count down the loop created with AudioMaster.
- V(olume) column to control the level of each sample.
- B(eat) column to set how many beat the sample is long.
- Comment column to set some note about the samples or list.

Unfinished features (but workings):
- Support for the 16 bit PC wave audio files (.wav).
ToDo: Conversion can use less memory).

- MIDI support to play with an external keyboard.
ToDo: Laks a simple interface to configure the keys.

Unfinished features (NOT workings):
- Play 16 bits samples at 12 bit directly from Amiga audio output.
- Autosync for the samples by using the new beat parmeters and play at specific BPM.
